The FT Business of Football Summit 2023 showed the way forward for modern conferences with smart use of the latest digital and in-person technology to increase the impact while reducing the carbon footprint of the event.
Silverstream worked with FT Live to provide a full hybrid package including virtual speakers and delegates and a dynamic digital backdrop for the stage.
The two day conference started with a digital-only day, which allowed top football executives and investors from all over the world to join the discussion about the latest developments in the global football industry. Speakers beamed in from USA, Spain, Australia and France, all mixed live at Silverstream studios in the UK. The global online audience were able to post questions and join the discussions. As well as allowing the most senior speakers to appear, it also reduced the carbon footprint of the event as they did not need long-haul flights to London.
Day two was an in-person event at the Biltmore Hotel in London’s Grosvenor Square. Instead of printed branding, Silverstream installed a giant LED display as the backdrop for the conference stage and created dynamic moving graphics and video to fill the 9m wide screen. This included live signage and information about sessions and speakers and live camera relays of the speakers.
The in-person conference was streamed live allowing digital ticket holders to follow the discussion and post questions direct to the speakers on the stage. There was also the option of bringing in remote speakers from anywhere in the world in case any speakers were unable to be in London on the day.
Within minutes of the live session, Silverstream made the video available on-demand allowing delegates to catch up on sessions they’d missed.
