Hybrid conferencing is officially flying!

When the pandemic took its hold on the UK events industry Rethink Events, like many others, faced a dilemma; how to continue providing live content to their target audience whilst up against the crippling restrictions caused by COVID 19. They needed a trusted partner that could take their events into the unknown realm of virtual - and that’s where our journey together began.

Fast forward to the present day where our Head of Production, Rob Davey, and the StreamTeam have overseen over 15 virtual productions with the Rethink events team, each managing to break the boundaries of what seemed initially impossible - and keeping the world of agriculture connected.

This year, with restrictions easing, the Rethink team have been full steam ahead with reverting back to fully in-person events, but the lessons learnt from their virtual shows have allowed them to further push their hunger to innovate on site. With some event speakers still unable to attend shows across the globe, Silverstream were able to provide a hybrid solution at this year’s World Water-Tech conference in London, which included multi-camera and graphic vision mixing, for both an onsite and online audience. Our technology allowed some of the panelists to join in on the live sessions from home by bringing them in remotely - giving them instantaneous two-way conversations with their fellow panelists on stage.

Part of the conference was also covered by a small crew working at SSTV HQ - They handled the fully virtual part of the event by bringing speakers into a virtual set for them to give their presentations. These sessions were beamed back into the main conference room in London, as well as streamed live online.  All sessions were edited remotely and made available as Video on Demand just a short while after each event day.
